International Day of Medical Physics Events
The International Day of Medical Physics (IDMP) is celebrated annually on November 7th to honor the contribution of medical physicists to healthcare. The date was chosen in recognition of the birthday of Marie Curie, a pioneer in the field of radioactivity and Nobel laureate in Physics and Chemistry.

The goal of IDMP is to raise awareness about the vital role that medical physics plays in improving patient care, particularly in areas such as diagnostic imaging, radiation therapy, and the development of medical technologies. It is also an opportunity to promote education and collaboration in medical physics globally. Each year, the IDMP has a specific theme highlighting different aspects of the profession.

SMPRP annually celebrates IDMP through various on-site and online events to promote the medical physics profession and its significance in healthcare and research. These events raise public awareness in the field, encourage professional development, and support national programs towards health for all.
