PCMP started in 2020, in line with the objectives of the society to promote and strengthen the medical physics profession in the Philippines, through the development and dissemination of scientific and technical information in medical physics and related fields.

PCMP 2024 will tackle the application of medical physics in advancing multidisciplinary and holistic patient care, towards quality healthcare for all. It will be held at the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, Cebu City on 10-11 May 2024.

The Society of Medical Physics in the Republic of the Philippines (SMPRP) held its first Philippine Congress of Medical Physics with the theme "Filipino Medical Physicists: Moving Toward Global Recognition and Competitiveness" last January 30-31, 2020 at Heritage Hotel, Pasay City, Metro Manila.
